Dr. Hynes was born here in Louisville and after several years in various states returned here for most of his education. He graduated from Saint Xavier High School before attending Bellarmine College (University now) where he received a B.A. in Biology. He attended medical school here at University of Louisville and received his degree in 1995. He initially did his internship in Internal Medicine, but after a year realized the error in his ways, and returned to his original calling...Pediatrics. He completed his Pediatric residency at Kosair Children's Hospital in January '99 and has been with Prospect Pediatrics ever since. He is Board certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics. He continues to be actively involved in the residency program and frequently mentors resident physicians during their training.

     He and his wife have 3 children, Sean, Ryan and Erin who continue to be the best teachers of pediatrics he has ever known. Dr. Hynes continues to feel that parenthood is a continual journey for which there really is no "right or wrong" path. He continues to look forward to serving as your "tour guide" and making sure none of us get lost along the way. In his spare time, he loves to spend as much time as possible with his kids and is an avid follower of the University of Kentucky basketball team.
